Doodlebugareacommunityofartists,musicians,performersandDJsbasedintheNorth-WestofEngland,andwhocollaboratewithpeoplefromaroundtheworld. Inthepast,DoodlebughavehelpedbringworksbyanumberofJapaneseartiststoManchester,includinganexhibitionofmanga,aButohperformance,andimprovisedmusicalperformances.

Eachyear,DoodlebugholdsInternationalDoodlebugDay,wherevariousartistscongregatetocreate'doodles'--piecesoffreeformartcontainingelementsofgraffiti,pop,comicandmangaartstyles. PreviousInternationalDoodlebugDayshavetakenplacesimultaneouslyinothervenuesaroundtheworld,includingTokyo,andhavebroughtguestsfromJapantoManchester.

Thisyear'sInternationalDoodlebugDaywilltakeplaceonSaturday6September 2003from1:00pmto3:00pm. Guestdoodlersfromaroundtheworld,includingJapaneseartistsYukoKondoandTak,willbecreatingtheirartonthewindowsandwallsofthe CornerhouseandKro2baronOxfordRoad, Manchester. Attendanceisfreeofchargeandbookingisonlynecessaryifyouwouldliketoparticipateinthedoodling.

ThedaytimeeventwillbefollowedbyDoodlebugPresents...,alivemultimediaartevent at the Cornerhousefrom8:00pmuntil11:00pm. TicketsforthisareGBP 5.00.
