Japanese culture festival at the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal

8 to 15 July 2012

The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal is holding a bunkasai – a Japanese culture festival – from 8 to 15 July 2012 (with some events taking place outside of those dates).

The festival includes:

• Anime and live-action film screenings
• Exhibitions of the works of influential manga creator Takao Saito (Golgo 13) and upcoming mangaka-in-residence Kayo Nakamura
• A talk from the head of manga publisher LEED on the current trends in manga
• Workshops on drawing manga, ink painting, ceramics and the Japanese language
• Japanese food
