The Manchester Japanese Society is holding an event about Japanese culture and the impact that the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power station disaster has had on it. It is being held in rooms 2 to 4 of the University of Manchester Students' Union on Wednesday 1 May 2013 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm.
There will be examples of traditional Japanese culture (origami, calligraphy, traditional games, etc.), trends in Japan (music, anime & manga, etc.), regional features of Japan, and information about the disaster (exhibition of photographs & illustrations, a film about the event, etc.).
The event is open to the general public and is free-of-charge to attend.
For more details, see the Facebook event page.
